Hypnogaja and the Music in Earthlings
Five of the tunes heard in Earthlings: Ugly Bags of Mostly Water
are original compositions from the hard-working, Los Angeles,
Calif.-based band, Hypnogaja. The lead track in the film, The
Spaceman, from the band’s album, Kill Switch, was an obvious
match for a documentary about Klingon language fans.

Developing a Fan Base
The band has developed a large, grassroots fan base through extensive
touring in California, opening for bands such as Godhead and Depswa,
and making community appearances at high-profile retail music
outlets, including Virgin Megastores in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Along the way, their winning promotional tactics have been evident.
Since the promotional phase of Kill Switch began, band members
have personally distributed nearly 10,000 free CD samplers of
Hypnogaja's music to audiences exiting rock shows or other crowded
night spots, as well as music retail patrons.
Other Avenues for Visibility and Success
Hypnogaja’s sound varies track to track, from the ballad
The Spaceman to the hip-hop sounds of The Dawn or the hard rocking
Nowhere. The band’s dark, layered, and energetic sound lends
itself naturally to film and television features. Publishing administrator
Michael Eames (of PEN Music Group, Inc.) has placed the band's
songs in numerous hit movies and TV shows, including "Las
Vegas" (NBC), "Tru Calling" (FOX), "Sex and
the City" (HBO), "America's Next Top Model" (UPN)
and the Mike Figgis feature film Cold Creek Manor, starring Sharon
Stone (Touchstone Pictures).
Hypnogaja is:
Jason "ShyBoy" Arnold - vocals
Mark Donikian (a/k/a Nubar) - keyboard
Jean-Yves "Jeeve" Ducornet - guitar
Tim Groeschel - drums and guitar
Chris Boyett – bass
